Storytel

Wow, two posts in one day, I’m on fire!

A couple of posts ago, I mentioned Storytel. Well, here’s a little bit more about it.

Storytel is an app that let’s you listen to audiobooks. I’ve always loved to read, but lately I haven’t been reading and it has really been bothering me.

I recently became a Buzzador ambassador, where I get to try out different products and give my opinion on them. And Storytel is one of those things so I guess in a way this is a sponsored post(I’m new to this) but everything I write is my own opinion. Phew, just wanted to get that out of the way, now – on to what this is about.

Storytel let’s you listen to a bunch of audiobooks for a small amount of money every month. I’m not sure how much it is in other countries, but here in Denmark it’s 99 DKR, which is about 17 dollars every month. Pretty cheap considering how expensive books are.

I use the app pretty much every single day. I use it when I’m cooking, cleaning, getting ready in the morning, even at night to fall asleep to. It has a sleep-button I usually set for 30 minutes and then I’m sleeping like a baby.
Now, I know some people might think ‘Well, don’t you miss out on some of the story?’ My answer is: no. There’s also a bookmark option, which I use before I set the sleeptimer. That way, I can just go back to the last thing I remember and I’m all set πŸ™‚

So to sum this all up; I more that recommend Storytel and I’ll definitely continue my subscription πŸ˜‰

Proactiv

Eventhough I’m getting close to 30 (ugh!) I’m still suffer from breakouts. Mostly, like other women, it’s worse close to my period and, of course, when I’m stressed. I feel like I’ve tried everything….

Now, I’ve seen the ads for Proactiv a million times but I’ve never really believed in all the praises because let’s face it: they’re hardly ever true.
But desperate times call for desperate measures and so, I’ve bought a starterkit.
It includes the renewing cleanser, revitalising toner and the repairing treatment. As a bonus-thingy, I also got the daily oil control, the refining mask, green tea moisturiser and a pack of pore refining packettes.
I’m really excited to try it all and I’ll give you a mini-review in a couple of weeks πŸ™‚

R.I.P Cory Monteith

I woke up to some very sad news this morning…. Cory Monteith, known for his role as Finn Hudson on Glee, was found dead in his hotelroom in Vancouver. He was only 31 years old. I’m sure most of you know the he had battled with substance abuse for a number of years and went to rehab earlier this year.
It’s so sad that so many people deal with these kinds of problems…. A lof of people get through it but sadly, a lot of people don’t. My thoughs and prayers are with Cory’s family and friends and his fiancΓ©e, Lea Michele.

If you’re dealing with any type of problem and feel alone, just know that there are people around you who are more than willing to help you through it. You are not alone.

Just another blah feeling

Do you ever wake up and just have this pessimistic feeling? I do sometimes and one of them is today. I don’t really know why though. All I know is that it sucks.

All I can think about are all the tings I don’t have and all the negative things instead of all the good things… It is really draining and sucks the good mood out of everything.

I feel like I’ve tried everything but I guess today is just another blah-day….

A new year

Hello hello,

so, as you know, it was my birthday yesterday – I had a nice and quiet day though. I’m not big on the whole b-day-party thing, haven’t been since I was about 10 years old.Β

I’m officially 29 now…. Which means I only have 364 days left in my 20’s… A scary though actually.

When I was in my late teens, I always pictured myself married with kids by the time I was 30. Boy did THAT not go as planned.

I’m happy with my life though – but I figured that I’d leave the 20’s behind with a bang!

….. I haven’t really figured out what that ‘bang’ is going to be yet, but I’m thinking about a lot of different things. Doing a 30 by 30 could be possible, but we’ll see.

Anyway, just a small post, letting you know that I survived my b-day – now it’s off to the postoffice. There’s a packet waiting for me containing som Vanish products. I’ve always wanted to try it, and when I got the chance through Buzzador (more on that later), I jumped to it!

Take care πŸ™‚

Happy birthday to meeeee

Okay, so my birthday isn’t until tomorrow, but already I’ve gotten the BEST presents!

First off – my boyfriend is amazing! This past Saturday I was told to leave the apartment at 5PM and not return until I got a text or a call from him. He told me it wouldn’t be for a couple of hours so I left with a little money and went to a cafΓ© where I ran into a few friends. Fast forward to 7PM and no text… So I called and asked when I could come home and was told ‘not yet’. I kinda figured it had something to do with my birthday present and then thought that whatever it wasn’t couldn’t take THAT long….? So time ticked by and I was getting hungry! Around 8.30PM I called my dad and asked what he was doing, explaining my situation. He was at our summerhouse (not as fancy as it sounds, trust me) painting, so he couldn’t help me.

Finally around 11PM, A called, saying that he was done and that he would come and get me. I was beyond happy – but mostly to get home and get some food in my stomach.

So we get home, I get something to eat and then A asks me if I want to watch a movie or go straight to bed. I choose option B and opens the door to the bedroom….

And this beauty was greeting me! The man bought me a closet!! We haven’t had one since we moved back in February and it was driving both of us crazy.

It is absolutely perfect! He really knows me πŸ˜€

I’ve starting putting our clothes away but it’s a pretty big project – A has a LOT of clothes… and shoes! A lot more that me πŸ˜‰

Moving on to the second thing… I got an email today from the school I applied to… and it pretty much says that I got IN!!! I have to go to a prepatory interview on August 14th, where I’ll get more info on the whole deal and stuff, but it says I’m in!! I did a happy-dance right there in the car (so it was more of a happy-butt-in-seat-dance) and I’ve been smiling ever since πŸ˜‰

So to further congratulate myself, I decided to buy myself a little present. The laptop I’m using right now sucks – the battery is dead, which means that I have to have the power connector plugged in all the time – that is just not good enough for what I’m about to embark on.

So I kinda bought this little thing….

Now, I KNOW a lot of people are against using iPads for school, but I did some research and this will do just fine. I’ll be buying a cover with a keyboard of course – anything else would just be silly – and I can’t wait to get it! I bought it online, so I think it’ll take 4-5 working day for it to get here. But once it does, I’ll definately do a review of it.

Phew, that was a loooong post! I’ll sign off now, gotta go to bed early to get up early tomorrow and bake some strawberry cupcakes as some friends are coming to celebrate me πŸ˜€

Take care!

Fingers crossed….

So… I’ve just sent my application for the next step regarding my education…

It wasn’t all that easy – first off – my computer couldn’t find the drivers for my printer/scanner.. So I had to search the web for some help and I’m proud to say that I managed to get the stuff installed! The I had to convert everything to pdf and finally I have to write a motivated application – not the easiest thing in the world. But I think I did a pretty good job in the end.

Now the waiting begins – I won’t know if I get in until July 30th – 26 days from now! I don’t know how on earth I’ll manage that… But it’s not like I have a choice, right? πŸ˜‰

In other news: I suck at doing nothing! This whole summerbreak thing is just not me… I’m constantly bored – so bored that I’ve decided on a project: My apartment-makeover, yay!

Yesterday I moved the furniture around in the bedroom – we now have a lot more space, which will come in handy once I get a closet… Now, I know what you’re thinking: ‘how can you live without a closet?!?!’. Well, it’s not easy. All our shoes and clothes are stored in boxes (pretty one I might add) and it’s driving me crazy! But, as a student, money isn’t exactly something I have a lot of, so I’m saving up to buy one (hopefully soon).

Tomorrow it’s all about the kitchen – I need to get stuff organized because it’s driving me nuts! If I get it done, I’ll post some pictures to show off πŸ˜‰

That’s all for now – I think it’s time to crawl into bed and listen to 50 Shades Darker on Storytel (I’ll give more info on what that is in an upcoming post)

Take care πŸ™‚
